I have a 2017 Z71 and love it, though mine only has the 6 speed with the Duramax Diesel. I think this is truly a unique opportunity for someone looking to build a FWC rig. I wonder though since it is a flatbed could you run something other than a flatbed fleet on it and get a little more width?

My guess is that you are giving up some storage, maybe some seating, and maybe some bed length or width with the smaller camper, but I agree that the smaller one would be more maneuverable - just kind of depends on what you plan to do really.

2017 Chevy Colorado Z71 Crew Cab Long Bed with 2.8 Duramax Diesel. 6000 miles on it with overall average MPG of 24.5 overall, with 30+ highway and 22 or so city. Average MPG with 2008 Phoenix (dry weight of 900lbs) 22-25 MPG. Lots of torque making passing on hills really easy.

Probably need more info. Camper is around 16-18k depending on mods. Truck around 25k depending on mods. This can of course vary depending on your location and such. Anyway those would be my very rough estimates (from someone who owns neither but has been looking at both over the past year).

Got my air bags installed today, with compressor and remove control. Still waiting on the camera to arrive. I took the camper on a couple of trips and averaged 23-29 mpg depending on the hills. So much better than the 12-15 I was getting before, and so much more get up and go on top of all that!
