RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Mattress Contribution

I can appreciate what your saying. It wasn't too many nights in our new FWC Hawk before I visited the local shop that sells foam and bought a new piece to replace the one provided in matress by FWC. Have been sleeping fine ever since.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Laguna San Ignacio

Just FYI, While down working on house last month in Puertecitos, we decided to go to Alfonsina's for shrimp omelettes and check where the pavement ended. They are all the way to Los Delfines now, maybe 10-12 miles from Gonzaga. Hate to see this get paved, but...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Replaced fridge - Norcold 3.0 3-way with Dometic 3.8 DC

I will be watching this thread and looking for some followup info from leadsled on the Waeco CR-1110 fridge, as well as, some info from markbc on the Isotherm Cruise 130. I'm leaning toward the Isotherm for the extra room (4.6 vs 3.8 cuft), plus we are not as concerned about a smaller freezer...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hey FWC.....any plans for

FYI to anyone interested. We have a Hawk (2010) with the extended cabover. It came with queen bed, but we got tired of pulling out the bed and trying to stow the bed mattress extensions during travel. Our solutuion was to remove the FWC mattress and buy a 4" foam the size of a double bed (54"x...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Sure Power 1314 Recall - FYI

I had hoped for some resolution to this 1314 issue by now as my unit is one of the recall serial numbers. Leaving next week from AZ for 5-6 week loop trip through NV, ID, WY, CO and NM. Have some concern now about safety issue with the 1314. Since it has functioned OK for more than 18 months...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West My Hawk weighs...

Was that stocked with all your camping gear and water too, or just an empty camper? Jacks on or off? 900# seems like an extreme variance. That is fully stocked, water, food, beer, clothes, recovery gear, tool box and I never leave the jacks on the camper. As stated before I have most options...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West My Hawk weighs...

Weight was never a consideration for me. I wanted a Hawk and that's what I went shopping for. How much it actually weighed only became an issue to me when people asked me how much it weighed and I did not know. I usually said "the tag says 740, but I suspect it to be around 1,200-1,300 lbs"...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West My Hawk weighs...

FYI to anyone interested in such trivia. Knowing my 2010 Hawk weighed a lot more than the Mfr tag says, I decided to find out by weighing it. First truck was weighed without it and then with it after getting the camper loaded for a trip I'm about to make AZ>NV>ID>WY>CO>NM>AZ. Weighed both times...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Sure Power 1314 Recall - FYI

Thanks for the update/recommendations, Tom. Does FWC know the specific serial number they installed for each camper unit? Should we at least go in and get the serial number to compare with the Surepower recall list? Will await your suggestion. BTW, Hi, hope all is well, and look forward to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Sure Power 1314 Recall - FYI

Has anyone heard anything from FWC on this issue? We have a 2010 Hawk and are concerned about it as we are about to head out for a month long trip. Does anyone know where I would look for this surepower unit in the camper? Michael

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bags Or Springs

I know this is an old post, but someone may be able to use this info. I carried a lot of weight on my old 2002 Toyota Tacoma DC. One mod was frame reinforcement above the rear axles. DeMello in Orange County has been making plates that are welded to the frame for years. Attaching pix of the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Annual antelope lake trip plus lookout

Thanks for the pix of Taylor Lake. It was one of my favorite camping places back in the Seventies. Climb to the lookout from the lake was a great workout. From your pix it looks like the fire lookout is gone now. My son is a Lassen NFS fire fighter in Chester, I'll be up there in a couple of...

So for you dodge guys what sort of 'real' mileage are you getting with the hemi loaded with a camper. what sort of problems are most common. and is there a market for a used 'setup' tundra with camper? what's a fair price? Just came across this post. I have an '09 Power Wagon with a Hawk...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Teaser ?

The only advantage I can see is if you have specific needs. Maybe someone that travels alone and wants to mount a large rooftop rack on the truck. That would certainly apply to me on many occasions when I have to tow a trailer to haul stuff to setup a remote pit for offroad races. A rack would...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Factory Rear Lights Question

An alternative (and easier) way of using the rear flood lights (from truck, for backing) would be with a remote control switch. I found a thread somewhere else that used a remote control switch to turn on/off something, but cannot find the thread again. Anyway, I wrote down the name of the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Factory Rear Lights Question

Your question leads me to think you may be thinking that the lights on the camper may be used as backup lights. You can use them for this, but you have to go back to the camper to turn them on. They are not wired up to the truck, but it sure would be handy if they were. BX
