RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Summertime + Fridge = 46°+

I agree, I found the wiring to tap into the line simple enough, but I really didn't want to fry any anything in the fridges computer board. It doesn't take much to overload something that has a tiny 20+ gauge wire on it. I wired a dedicated 8 gauge wire to the fridge and used the wire that was...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Summertime + Fridge = 46°+

you will know right away if you have the factory vents. They will be on the outside of your camper right behind your fridge and be pretty large. Like 12x24 inch large and there would be a top vent and a lower vent.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Attention a Electrical Sleuths

Hi Ted, Wondering if you ever were able to get everything fixed and working correctly. I found the wiring coming out of the fridge to have the fan run only when the fridge fan was running but I was to worried about adding more load to the system then it was made to handle. So I have mine wired...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Summertime + Fridge = 46°+

I had issues with mine until I had it vented correctly and added a computer fan to it. For a few years FWC didn't have any venting from them from the factory and become pretty clear of the issue. From what we have found from the mfg's, is they require minimum of 36 square inches and more air...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Norcold 3-Way Fridge in 2005 Hawk FWC

not really. maybe you could remove the tank and get a good distance way from the camper and any other source of sparks. Then find a small regulator and bit of hose and just open the valve and let it drain out and try and and find a different supplier or propane then you used last time to fill...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Norcold 3-Way Fridge in 2005 Hawk FWC

If you are getting tons of soot, then you are not getting a clean burn or possibly something wrong with your fuel. Your in Mexico? Maybe you got a poor supply of propane. Maybe see if you can try different propane would be the first thing I would try. 1990 Ford F-250 1997 fwc grandby

Well guess I am all in now with my fwc. I just sold my Thor 18 ft toy hauler. It was a lot of fun to play around with and learn about remodeling campers. I changed the floor plan, plumbing, cabinets and built a table. Was fun but just to much of a pain to pull and try and go off roading. Now...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2011 Hawk Electrical Problems

Sounds like your converter may have gone bad then. That would be about the only thing I could think of other then something in your breaker box or fuse pannel going south. I would get a volt meter and check if you have power both 12v and 110v going into it and if nothing is coming out you have...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Replacing Ice Box with 2 Way Fridge

I have the dometic 65l and it slid right in with zero modification. Didn't work well and used a ton of power until I vented it correctly and used some computer fans. Now it works great. You might check truck fridge If your considering a cooler style fridge. They gave us a group buy in but it...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 4WC + Dirtbike suggestions

It all depends on the truck and type of motorcycle hitch carrier. I know 68 Siesta had some excitement when he hit a large pot hole in some road construction and a strap broke and the two motorcycles came off doing 65 mph. Lucky for him the other strap held and dragged the bikes behind until was...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Restore and mount 1968 camper to new truck

I found this thead in the "other" section. While it is not a FWC, it deals with how to change an older camper to fit a newer truck model. But more importantly it shows what you can do with the extra space in a new storage section. Pretty neat set up and worth taking a look...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Restoring a 68 Siesta Pop-up and getting it to fit a newer style truck.

Great work! Love the outdoor kitchen. That was about the only thing I saw at overland expo with all the off road cargo trailers with roof tents I envied was the out door kitchens. Sure makes it nice to be cooking outside where everyone else is at.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bedliner camper bottom?

I saw on truckcampermagazine.com a new camper from palomino I think? It had a bed liner completely around it from top to bottom. I've considered the bottom and roof but not much more then that. Sent from my iPad using Wander The West

I know a lot of us like our truck campers for many different reasons but being able to pull trailers is one of mine. Have any of you made or modified your trailers to better suit your needs on the road? If so, what did you do and why? 1990 Ford F-250 1997 fwc grandby
