    Water system leak

I have a 2020 Hawk front dinette and after a particularly cold winter I checked the water system and indeed found the plastic water manifold (5 port) had a leak when I pressurized the system. Understand that I did the prescribed method of draining all the water prior to storage. I called FWC...

    Victron IP22 install question

I am in the process of installing the Victron 120v Blue Smart IP22 charger/converter. I have read that these units can get very hot, so where do you suggest mounting it for best air flow cooling? I was considering mounting on the battery cabinet door and prop door open when in use or on the wall...

Building an Arctic - Cold Weather Pack

Thank you FreezingMan, I tried to find original material used in the build that ski3pin used (KC - EVOLUTION / BLOCK-IT 400 SERIES 55" GRAY)but it is very difficult to find or it has been discontinued. I can acquire the Warm Windows Insulated Shade material at a local JoAnn store though somewhat...

Questions regarding "So, you want to setup a good electrical system in your camper?"

Thanks Tacoma, that is the sort of thing that would mount the Anderson SB120 cleanly. Where do the rest of you adventurers insert the CB on the house battery side of the DC2DC power line. Meaning do you sequence DC/DC charger - CB - Battery or CB - DC/DC charger - battery?

Questions regarding "So, you want to setup a good electrical system in your camper?"

Thank you Vic for this very informative thread. With respect to running 4awg from the truck batt to the Victron Orion Tr Smart 30A and 100AH LiFe battery: 1. How do you make the connection at the truck bed? The Anerdson SB connectors seem fine but not a very clean pass through at the truck bed...

FWC Electrical basics and upgrading to lithium!

I can't remember what FWC video I watch on this matter but a reference was made that the LiFe upgrade eliminated the IOTA but they did not mention what charger they substituted. Carlos - just a thought, the direction I am going is 1x SOK 100ah battery which is 10.6" L / 7.9" W / 9.1" H . I have...

    Interior lighting upgrade

I am of the same opinion, those OEM lights are not pleasant on any level, too blue. I spent a lot of money on this camper and want the lighting to be as relaxing as available. I also require a red option for evening lighting and thus far have resorted to taping red film over the LED strips...

FWC Electrical basics and upgrading to lithium!

Hey Carlos, I called SOK tech yesterday and they were of the opinion that our IOTA was not compatible for many varied reasons including improper cell balancing. As I do more research seems if I remove the IOTA I will lose the AC to DC connection to the rest of the electrical system while on...

FWC Electrical basics and upgrading to lithium!

KP - excellent write up and timely for me as I am considering the lithium upgrade from the OEM 2x 12v AGM ( 2020 Hawk with my own 340w solar and Victron MPPT 30 installed). The dc/dc is already installed. I understand that the IOTA - 30 IQ4 I currently have is not a perfect match for lithium. If...

    Ford F250 Death Wobble

Hi BigRanchinSky, I live just up the road from you and have the EXACT same truck as you, 2019 use only for my FWC with 24,000 miles on it with no lift and OEM tires (carefully balanced and aligned). Just started to get the hint of Death wobble.

    4AWG from the factory?

Ooops, forgot to mention...... Definitely plan to go 2x LiFePO4 later when the AGMs get old and possibly add another SunPower 170w if needed. Does this alter my requirements for the DC-DC........ is the Orion DC-DC 30A still sufficient? Thought I would ask before I spend the $$$. If you give...

    4AWG from the factory?

Hello Vic and Makalutoo. I am new to WTW with my recent acquisition of a 2020 Hawk (2x AGM 79AH ea) on my 19' F250. Truck is set up with dual Alternators and batteries. Realizing that anything related to diesels is more expensive, I am very interesting in preserving those components. Current...
