RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Replaced fridge - Norcold 3.0 3-way with Dometic 3.8 DC

Update. Well, it turns out that the refrigerator is fine. The problem was the 12v connection failing. I originally used the 12 volt source that was hooked up to my original 3-way refrigerator. The connection was slowly deteriating and not providing full battery power to the refrigerator...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Replaced fridge - Norcold 3.0 3-way with Dometic 3.8 DC

Been off the grid for 6 weeks. Just returned from Colorado trip. Very timely questions......upon return I found out my fridge had died. I liked it so well.....I'm replacing it with the same model. It lasted 4 years. In all fairness I beat the hell out of my truck...so things are bound to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 1/2 ton vs 3/4 ton

Yes, this topic has been discussed a lot before. It's been a while since I posted on this forum. My 2 cents. I started out with my Hawk mounted on my half ton Tundra. I'm a Toyota fan from way back. Owned several Toyota trucks in the past with great reliability and value, I installed Hawk...

Here's a link to my air compressor install: http://www.wanderthewest.com/forum/topic/5502-air-compressor-installation/?hl=compressor With the storage tank you can run air tools. I like the permanently mounted option as it does not require any usable storage space and no set up time. Just...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper Steps - Modification for clearance & jack or shovel mounting.

A question for you Toyota guys with High Lift jacks.....where do you mount the jack on the vehicle for lifting? Other than sticking it in the receiver hitch....I can't think of any where that wouldn't result in damage.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West auxiliary gas cans

Bwht4X4, Yes, the brand was Kolpin.....not RotoPax. The Kolpin tanks are very low quality. You owners of the RotoPax brand....how are they holding up? Do they swell when the weather gets hot? I may pick one up for my ATV if they don't swell up.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Moving from F150 to bigger truck

There is about a 3" clearance between my truck's roof and the camper. I believe that this is the amount of lift FWC created by adding the slats. You will love how a 3/4 ton truck handles the camper.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Moving from F150 to bigger truck

My Hawk was originally installed on a Tundra. When I bought the F250 FWC had to install slats on the bottom to raise it up to clear the cab roof. I never take the camper off and love having it on a 3/4 ton rig.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West auxiliary gas cans

I have the older design of that red gas can......and in the heat it swelled really badly. I wouldn't buy another one on a dare. I didn't leak though....and still holds gas well. It just looks like crap and got a lot thicker.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Just getting started, what accessories do I need?

I hear ya Smoke. I've used the high lift jack most of my life.....and it almost killed me twice....but I still carry it at times. The thing I hate most about it when using it you have to use up all of your vehicles suspension sag before it starts lifting the tire out of the muck. Then...you...
