RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West What's the new furnace being installed by FWC?

I threw one of those 8012 2's in my shell model. It works great, even if I haven't used my camper after a couple years. That doesn't happen very often, but once in a while, women can get in the way. I mean the X, not women in general.

Thanks Rob, I'll check it out further. Now, what do you do with the old door? Guess it would make a good door for a playhouse for my daughter. Hayduke

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Screen Door question

I'm sure someone knows what's involved in having a screen door installed. I didn't get one when I bought my shell back in 1996. Every year I regret it. Do you have to take the door off to install the screen door? I'm tired of the roll of netting I use that's velcroed above the door and along...

Hey Will, Thought I knew you. I worked as a medic w/ AMR when you did. Hope you are doing good. I'll be going to Death Valley here for a week. Maybe I'll be able to make an effort to see those bags at some point after. I'll probably try to check the leaf spring assist idea of Clarks too. Thanks...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Which air bags to buy?

brett It's appreciated. Thanks for the info. I'm leaving for a 9 day round of Eureka/Racetrack/Hunter Mt./Saline Valley on April 10th with my 8 year old daughter. I'll have one more trip leaning to the left before ordering some bags. Is anyone else gonna be skulking around out there during this...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Which air bags to buy?

Ha. well, on the same topic, I replaced my rear leaf springs 10 years ago w/ aftermarket leaf springs from an outfit that sold aftermarket toyota mods. My original leafs on my 99 Tacoma just couldn't handle the weight of my shell model fwc and the truck was riding dangerously close to the tires...

Mark, don't know what a pig ticket is. I appologized and won't say/write that word again. I'm a vile creature and sometimes have to watch my p's and Q's, or in this case my F's, B's and D's. Hopefully enough said, but please clue me into what a pig ticket is. I can't wait. Hamm, no problem...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West a few pics for hamm

I have empathy for hamm. If he hasn't already done so, He is about to bestow the wonders of a fan forced heater onto his road home. Not only that, but there is the inevitable cutting holes in his 4wheel. kinda a two way street. Hopefully, I'm not the only one here who has begged his Karma to not...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Atwood vs Suburban

Hamm, sorry it took a while to get back to this post. I believe my Atwood is a model 8012 11 but I'd have to look. It has the lowest amp draw I could find. At work right now, then leaving town for a funeral service tommorrow. If I get the time, I'll try to get some photos of my install soon. I...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Atwood vs Suburban

Hamm. I did the same in my shell. I used the Atwood. Can't remember the model#, but it had the lowest amp draw I could find for a 12k btu output. The unit I have works flawlessly. I have it hooked to a thermostat, and it fires right up everytime. I'm a firefighter and am at work for a couple...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Thoughts on placing a FWC on a small trailer

Hey all. I'm still alive. Just been viewing (a lot) I have a shell FWC on 1999 Tacoma that I have customized inside. I love it and have used it a lot, but It's getting to be a real pain in the arse to take off and put on, especially with my hydraulic jacks. Those things are 11 years old and...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Older Grandby seen in La Selva Beach

I was out in front of the Fire Station where I work in La Selva Beach by Aptos, Ca. and saw an older Grandby on a white Chevy (I think). If you are on the board, say hi. You were on the phone as you went by, otherwise I would have stopped you to say howdy. That's a nice looking camper. Hayduke

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Turnbuckles and Furnace (New Member)

I was gonna say, I marked mine years ago with an indelible marker (aka permanent marker). RF means right front, LR means left rear. and I marked "top" on the top. Then drew an arrow on the flat surface to indicate tighten direction. Never had any doubts since. Good luck
