RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Tacoma Mounting Brackets For Sale

The brackets have been sold. Since I sold my Eagle to some folks that had a Ford they did not need the mounting brackets. These brackets are for a 2005-2011 (12?) Toyota Tacoma, the so-called second generation Tacomas. Heavy gauge steel brackets with filler plates and bed liner pieces...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West End of Year 2009 Eagle For Sale

The Eagle has sold! Happy new owners took delivery today. In addition to encouraging them to join WTW and take advantage of the knowledge base, I've offered to be a "consultant" for them as they introduce themselves to this mode of travel/life since they live nearby. I still plan to be a...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West What is your MPG with FWC ?

Wife and I just got back from a 5,899 mile trip from Eugene, OR to BC, Yukon, and Alaska. Trip included the gravel roads of the Dempster Hwy, the "Top of the World" Hwy, and the Denali Hwy. Worst roads were parts of the "paved" Alaska Hwy. We took our 2008 Tacoma, 4cyl/5 speed/4WD, with the...

When the time comes to replace our truck, I have been thinking about the 4cyl with a manual trans. Your fuel milage is very intriguing. Toyota's posted milage numbers for the four cyl are a bit discouraging. Is your Eagle a shell model or a fully outfitted model (stove, refer., furnace, etc)...

21.8 with the camper! That's awesome....is that a 4 cyl or 6 cyl? My 2001 6 cyl, is averaging 15-18 without camper and 14-16 with it. 4 cyl, 5 speed manual trans, and I don't drive fast, and I monitor fuel consump realtime with a Scangauge II. That way I know when I'm being "fuelish". It is...

Yup, new last summer and parts were still under construction including the solar PV array for supplemental energy. It still had that "new" smell inside. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

Tacoma + Eagle = a great rig! What year is the Eagle? Does it have the extended cabover? The Eagle was an end of year 2009 unit, just before Christmas if I remember correctly. No on the extended cabover, just standard. The combo has worked well for us. Arctic Circle and back, 1 month, 3...

We sometime stayed at territorial campgrounds though they seem to be located where the bugs are the worst.

There were other interesting trip and expedition vehicles in the parking area here. Some shipped from Europe and driven cross-country.

Here's a couple of photos from our trip to the Yukon, the Dempster Hwy, and Canadian Arctic last June. The camper and truck performed flawlessly - no flats, no window chips, no leaks, no bugs (inside the camper at least:-)).

Bird feeder and a 12 ga. You might be on to something there Barko1. We are planning to bring some bird attracting food (sunflower seeds and peanuts) on the trip just to lure in some otherwise reluctant birds. And we had been considering taking along our shotgun "just in case" for the Yukon...

Very nice setup. I get the feeling you're new converts from tent camping? I have two bird feeders in the the backyard. Amazing quantity of birds. Never been a birder but I am slowly coming around. Good guess! We've always backpacked, camped out of sea kayaks, or car camped in the past. Fall...

DirtyDog was interested in pix from Harney County so here are a few. Krumbo Pond is just after the turnoff to Krumbo Reservoir (the gate was still locked in early April). It's a great place to see waterfowl because you're looking down on the pond and the light is usually behind you. There are...

I have been a serious and studious lurker here for quite a while and figure it’s time to come into the light of day. I’ve learned a great deal by reading all the forums and feel like I’ve graduated from “high school” and ready to embark on our own journeys. After searching for a camper for...
