RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West How Level for the fridge?

Unfortunately I dont have the manual. The fridge may very well be older than me. The rig is a 78, but at some point it had been rebuilt so I'm not sure how old it is. I'm gonna look around the house for some boards for him to take with him to level the truck out. Thanks for the experience guys!

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West How Level for the fridge?

As the title entails, how level does the truck need to be to operate the Fridge. The local RV is saying as level as possible, there is a level bubble in the fridge as well as pitch and roll in the truck cab. My grandfather is getting ready to do the maiden voyage on the rig to Oklahoma so I...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Convertor Questions

My problem is if I run my batteries down on my truck, I'm pretty screwed, the starter on my truck is 24 volts, and it needs all the cranking amps it can pull from my 2 1000cca batteries as it can get. It spins my engine at least 300rpms as it spins. I've run them down before, and jumping the...

One other side note: I think it would be kinda cool if w/in this site there could be an area that listed a set of systems/types of add-ons or equipment that are in consensus agreement by the members of the site to be the best setup running for most applications. For example, providing...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Oil

I'm considering going to amsoil. They have a new synthetic as well as an oil filter that is supposedly good for 25,000 miles in normal duty and 15,000 in severe duty. They have it for everything from sport compacts to diesels. On the other hand, my diesel mechanic reccomends synthetic with...

My grandfather is getting ready to head out on a trip from San Diego, CA to Oklahoma City, OK. He will be camping along the way but before he goes I need to style out the camper. RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Commuting

That is pretty hard core, not only do you have to think about gas mileage and handling, but also planning ahead for certain things such as underground parking structures and available parking spaces. Granted these are small lower profile rigs, but they still add some hieght. I have a 4x4 tahoe...

As for getting the old one off, I used the Reico Titan Camper jacks, an easy pedal, and a lot of eyes. Ended up doing it in my buddies nice, flat driveway. My buddy has a pair on his 1700+ lb skamper, they work for him just fine. He has the plates permanently mounted to his camper and removes the two bolts that hold the plate to the jack. I'm 5'9" and my head doesn't even get close to hitting the cabover part when I stand next to the truck. I figure I'm pushing close to 9ft. I can stand straight up in the camper and put my hand up and lay my palm flat. It is a big sucker, that is why I want to keep it for my plot in Baja.
