ckent323: Oh, that's interesting! I knew the Keystone was big but I didn't think it was bigger than the Grandby. Good researching. LuckyDan: received your payment and PM. I'll get the fabric out ASAP. The heater and extra hardware are gone already so that concludes that. Best wishes to...

I also have several bags of SS screws in different sizes. Some or all have the neoprene washers. I had started replacing all the old fasteners on the Grandby w/ SS ones. I'll give first dibs to whoever buys the fabric or heater (to make shipping easier) but if those folks don't want them then...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Brand new replacement FWC/ATC popup liner + Wave 3

A couple of years back I acquired a 70's vintage FWC Grandby. I tore it all apart and starting rebuilding it and then circumstances and my own lack of resolve caused that project to die. I got rid of the camper and I have just now dug up some replacement parts from the garage. The main item...

Thanks, but, besides the leaking, the mildew stains on the foam are the biggest reason for me to do the replacement. Otherwise, I doubt I'd ever get my wife to come out with me. Silicone is great, but over time it seems to lose it's adhesive to aluminum. I found a sealant called Duralink, this...

What happened? I thought you were well on your way with the restore. The summary is that I got in over my head. I also had some upheaval in my personal life but that can hardly be blamed for anything. If anything, the camper can be blamed for the personal problems! Haha. I ended up getting...

Where can I buy the drill crank adapter tool shown in the picture? http://www.amazon.com/Rieco-Titan-Products-Adapter-Camper/dp/B001Y8L69Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1311957951&sr=8-1 That seems awfully expensive... I think I saw it for $19.99 or $29.99 at some random RV site online at one...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FS: 4 Corner jacks + mounts

(edit: LOCATION: East Bay, San Francisco, CA area) I have 4 Rieco Titan corner jacks. I got them directly from ATC about 6 months ago so they are the ones made for FWC / ATCs. I was working on a project and had them mounted for about 1.5 months. I then used them to get the camper off the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Charging house battery

This past weekend I ran my edgestar for about 50 hours (80 degrees high during the day), plus 2 nights of my heater (temps were in the high 30's/low 40's over night) set at +/- 55 degrees before it tripped the low voltage warning. My battery was not charging correctly - so I have no idea where...

To update: I returned the Sears Platinum G31 AGM batt and found a couple of 6V golf cart batteries for roughly the same price, except they give me 220ah vs the 100ah from the single AGM. For my upcoming trip I'll be running the fridge for maybe 60 hrs (real time) with an estimated 120ah usage...

Relay/solenoid: Cheap route would be to just get a continuous duty solenoid. I'll sleep on the panel / charger you mentioned. I like the looks of them. In fact it'll be 2 nights sleep since I'm headed out camping for one night... I went ahead and ordered a random continuous duty solenoid I...

In case it is helpful for comparison, we are using a hellroaring battery isolator for alternator charging, 120 Watt Solar Blvd house brand solar panel (solar cynergy), Morningstar SS-10 pwm charge controller, dual interstate 100 amp batts. This system seems to be powering our Edgestar just...

Solar can be pretty simple and you get some charging even with clouds. A simple 7amp charge controller is good for 105 watts of solar and costs about $20 on Amazon. A 60w panel for $160...

So to start with, I'll say I've gained a lot of valuable information here. One thing is a reference to the book "Managing 12 Volts" which I have been reading. I have some questions for the experts / experienced folks here. First, some background. I am primarily interested in powering a 12V...

Looks like you've made some good progress. I've got another 2 weeks before I'm back working on my restoration. I think I get what you are saying about the fabric on the roof -- not 100% sure, though. I've got the replacement fabric from ATC in a box ready to go when I get to that part. It...

I"d give ATC/FWC a call and see what they want for the latches. No idea on aluminum care. From talking to ATC when I was up there a few weeks ago they want something like $17 as well -- seems fair if it's the same as MMC. Haven't spoken to anyone with FWC yet, though.
