RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Truck Bed Power Plug

We have a Tacoma with the bed outlet. I ran an extension cord from the bed outlet to an outlet in the camper. You can see what I did here: https://travelswithrockythedog.blogspot.com/2013/08/new-storage-and-inverter-outlet.html It requires the truck ignition to be on which is a bit...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West So now it's the first day of Fall

Well we got winter out of the way in October and are back to summer this week with highs in the 60s maybe even 70s. The October range for Minneapolis was a high of 80°F on October 9, and a low of 16°F on October 27. And we had 9.3 inches of snow, a new record for October. This weather will be...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West So now it's the first day of Fall

Well, the calendar says it's fall but we are enjoying winter. Highs in the 30s, 8 inches of snow so far and more forecast for the weekend. Today we experienced all forms of precipitation- rain, sleet, graupel, snow. Worst October weather in a 140 years (or best, depending on your point of view)...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A quick visit to Michigan's U.P.

Vic, sounds like an epic trip you are planning. There is lots to see along the big lake, whichever side you choose to go on. We really enjoyed the Canadian side of Lake Superior- nice parks with great hiking and interesting sites to see. If you choose to drop down into the states, the Superior...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A quick visit to Michigan's U.P.

It's a nice campground- lack of services keeps the riff-raff out, haha. The campground host mentioned to us that the black flies were very troublesome earlier in the summer. something to keep in mind. We had no issues with bugs since it was in the fall. Ski, thanks for the comment. The smoke...

We escaped quarantine for a short trip over to the U.P. A bit of nature and fall color was just what the doctor ordered. A trip report is posted to the blog: https://travelswithrockythedog.blogspot.com/2020/09/fall-color-trip-2020-michigans-up.html Here's a teaser pic:

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Inexpensive under bed cushion air-flow ideas?

Looking at the Hypervent site, I read that the fabric should be on the top side of the Hypervent, away from the cold side. You might try that and see if it solves the moisture problem?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West First Post - Going to Utah/Arizona in October

We have the camper house battery under the hood wired to the alternator using the IBS separator. We also have an extra battery in the camper charged only by solar. I plan to hook it up to the alternator some day. The battery charger is an 8 amp smart charger by Battery Minder.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West First Post - Going to Utah/Arizona in October

We did a trip to the North Rim and Utah in early October of 2016. You can read about it in our blog: https://travelswithrockythedog.blogspot.com/2016/10/north-rim-and-southern-utah-part-1.html We use a roof mounted solar panel and the truck alternator for charging our batteries. I also carry a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West All terrain exterior storm window cover vs. Four Wheel interior cover

We keep our storm flaps on all the time and just roll them up after popping the roof. The velcro holds them in place. Takes less than 5 minutes with the step stool we use at the camper door. If bad weather threatens, we just roll them down- takes even less time than rolling them up. We like the...
