    Leave them on. Now you will have drilled holes in the camper to mount the jack brackets so there is a new entry point for water. I mounted mine and sealed them, I also made backing plates for the brackets.

    I believe the vent is necessary and with the camper down the fluid should be near the top or when fully extended there should still be a small amount in reserve

    Did you guys have to "break" them in? I bought these also and the first 100 miles or so felt down right dangerous my truck would feel like it was on ice and just dart around. Then it all stopped and the tires are great.

    I would do the south route then go up the west coast. I would say if youre on the west coast you could make it to south Alaska this time of the year.
