RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Inside the Beltway Camping

I camped there as a kid in my parents' Argosy TT, but didn't know it was still there. Thanks for the pic and the inspiration. I think it's now about time to take my own kids camping in DC. JP

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Do you smell somethin?

Considering that you're talking "wife" here and not just little girl, i would highly recommend the standard Thetford or similar portapotty. They're relatively comfortable and discrete. Yes, they're a little awkward to dump and keep clean, but that's not your wife's concern, is it? (If I want to...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West FWC camper picture from Iceland

Brrrr. So, what do Iceland and Brownfield, TX have in common? ... They're correctly named. ... Of course, not far from Brownfield there are other accurately named places. Like Levelland and Plainview. We used to live nearby in Whiteface, which isn't far from Bovina and Hereford. ... JP...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Going to the Sun Road

Another view from the road: A typical glacier carved U-shaped valley. Its the landscape carved by huge ancient glaciers that gives the park its name rather than the little glaciers still found at high altitudes today.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Going to the Sun Road

I was there in June 2007. Near the beginning of Going to the Sun Road on the west side of the park you can take a short hike through a temperate rainforest. Only a few miles from here you are in alpine tundra.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Firestone Rite Ride

This is just conjecture, so take it for what it's worth: Since the stability control system works by actuating the brakes independently to correct for oversteer, maybe Patrick's load sensing bar adjustment would alleviate problems with the stability control as well as the braking by giving the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West My new FWC Grandby

I'll ditto everybody's congrats on the great looking rig, Buzz! Love those 70's era trucks. And, kcowyo, one place you might check for the memory foam 2" mattress is a Sam's Club or Costco. We got ours at Sam's, but I think I've seen them at Costco, too. Ours has transformed an old hard...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New members and spam filters

I got a chuckle out of this one: The Google ad touting their spam filter below your message warning about spam filters. To add to the irony, I just finished digging through my Google spam folder to find your authorization for my email address change today. BTW, thanks for the great job on the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West From Pop-up to Waay Upscale

"had a bear scratch the rear door" Huh? Why did the bear scratch your door? Was he requesting access? Were you frying bacon at the time? Where were you when this happened and what did you do about it? JP

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West FWC options for F-250 short bed.

Just Curious... I'm wondering why you are choosing a pop-up FWC over a Six-Pac S650 or other lightweight slide-in for your Diesel F250? (My personal reasons include off-season storage in my garage as well as off-road capability.) If you only intend to use it on the road and in campgrounds a...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West El Grande Rojo made it across Central America

Loved the blog! Central America doesn't sound like my cup of tea, but I found your trip reports and photos fascinating nonetheless. I'll go back to read some of your earlier posts for info about your camper & truck and eagerly await your "review" of both. JP

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Short bed Tundra with Cougar Shell

Tundra/Cougar Combo Great example of a long bed camper on a short bed Tundra. Ben, I'm interested in this same combination (2007 Double Cab Short-bed Tundra w/Cougar ATC). Were there any special issues fitting the Cougar to the short-bed 2007 Tundra? Are the sides of the bed too high? Also...
