RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Couple things I noticed at 5 degrees F.

FreezingMan, the Warm Windows idea is very interesting. You mentioned an attached photo but I don't see it (although wicked1 apparently did). How am I missing it? Thanks.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Water Seepage on Floor

I had a rainwater leak that I thought was a problem with the door. It turned out to be one end of the aluminum door threshold. The fix was easy, replace the caulk, but it took a while to discover it since I was just sure it was door-related.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hot Water Tank Removal

I replaced my 2011 Hawk WH a few years ago and it turned out to be easier than I expected. At least one of the connections was better accessed once I'd removed the face screws and I could move the unit slightly. Then the whole thing slid out cleanly. Going in with the new one I used sealing...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Winter camping

Found it. The tube runs along the left side along the floor under a piece of wood I thought was just trim. Not sure how to reference the post by Stan that shows it, but search on: "The 20 gallon fresh water tank drain runs along the floor (in most floor plans)".

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Winter camping

Good idea. It is a bit of a puzzle how to access that end of the tank. Looking down in there beside the tank I did see a nut driver and a pen I'd dropped some time ago and remembered why they are still there...access is really tight! Thanks.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Winter camping

The water tank drain that runs somewhere under the camper (2011 Hawk) to the rear where the valve is...I'd think it would be prone to freezing. I can't think of a way to prevent it from freezing but I've not seen a comment here that it's been a problem for others. Lots of good ideas on...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Do you remember the guys who vandalized Devils Hole?

The third perp received one year plus one day in prison followed by three years of "supervised release" which I guess means probation.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West No Key? No Problem!

My 2011 Hawk has no visible screws near the lock but there is a stainless plate so perhaps that covers them. I ended up removing the interior handle thinking it would be so easy to simply break the window, reach around and unlock the door. I do keep my photo gear back there but keep it out of...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Back door keeps flying open

Below problem solved...the cause was a lack of lubrication and of brains. The inside deadbolt I mentioned is just the back side of the upper key key mechanism which felt like it was working in its 90 deg turning. I did not realize it takes a 180 deg turn and that part was stuck. Just needed more...
