Found some tubs that fit well in an old (non-bumpout) wardrobe closet

Bos Trok: I removed that metal pull-out clothes hanging rail from my Alaskan because I was forever bumping my head on it and opening a recurring wound there. I never used it to it hang clothes, so good riddance!

    Painting Alaskan Camper Badges

Kansafornia: Thank you for posting the photo of the Testor paint bottles, but the photo resolution is too low for me to read the colors when the photo is enlarged. I'll just go to a local hobby shop and buy some enamel paint, then coat the emblems with clear acrylic when I'm finished painting.

    2021 Improvements to 1966 8' NCO Alaskan

Here are two earlier threads detailing the Improvements made to my 1966 8' NCO Alaskan camper in 2015 and 2016: https://www.wanderthewest.com/forum/topic/11452-engel-12-volt-refrigerator-in-1966-8-nco/ https://www.wanderthewest.com/forum/topic/13817-2016-improvements-to-1966-8%E2%80%99-nco/

    2021 Improvements to 1966 8' NCO Alaskan

The former flex neck reading light at the front side of the sink wasn’t bright enough for my aging eyes. So it was replaced with a much brighter 2.5 watt (270 lumens) Britta Products 12 volt map light (model LGNS-Black-CW-12). An awning rail was installed along the bottom of the top shell...

    2021 Improvements to 1966 8' NCO Alaskan

In 2021 I refined my 1966 8’ NCO Alaskan by adding a third 100 watt solar panel, rerouting the solar feed into the camper top shell, back-feeding 12 volts into the unused 120 volt AC light circuit, and installing a stronger reading light near my bed. Details follow. A third 100 watt solar panel...

    Louvered Window Glass Replacement

Hi AtomicGecko; Your side windows are neither louvered or jalousie, which is a window composed of parallel glass, acrylic, or wooden louvers set in a frame. The louvers in a louvered or jalousie window overlap each other. Instead, yours is a Hehr (brand) Standard window used in the 1940s, 50s...

What do you have going for an electrical system?

My 1966 NCO 8' Alaskan has been converted to all 12 volts. Three 100 watt solar panels in a framework supported front and rear by the canoe rack brackets charge and maintain a Group 31 AMG 12 volt battery. A 12 volt fuse panel near the battery protects all the 12 volt circuits for the Engel 12...

Dangerous Twisting of Jacks When raising and Loading Alaskan 10 CO on my Ford Long bed

Thinking outside the pickup box, have you considered leaving the heavy 10' CO Alaskan on your F250 and buying a 8' or 10' tandem axle trailer with 2' high metal walls to haul your fencing, landscape materials and farm materials? Or even a flatbed trailer with a rail and pockets around its...

    Wyoming winter ski tour

Keith: A fine report on an excellent week of Wyoming skiing! Your Alaskan is well equipped for such high adventures. Some time soon we should meet up at La Casa Fiesta in Monument, CO for margs and checking out each other's nicely equipped 1966 Alaskan 8' NCOs. First round is on me. :)

    Another Attempt at ID

Hi Philthytoo: The 1969 Alaskan campers has 2 teardrop markers lights mounted horizontally at the front (amber lens) and rear (red lens) on each side. They also have the Hehr standard windows sets with 2 stacked, top-hinged aluminum framed windows each side of a center fixed picture window...

    Narrow cab over?

Hi jdodd: In 1998, and very likely in a few preceding and following years, Alaskan offered two mini-cabover campers for mini trucks, such as the Ford Ranger and many smaller imported trucks. Their existence is documented in the 1998 Price List following the 1998 sales booklet just posted at the...

1960 to 1969 sales brochures posted.

1971 and 1998 Alaskan Camper sales booklets added. I just uploaded a 1971 and a 1998 Alaskan Camper sales booklet to the Alaskan Brochures thread. They each provide a lot of factory information about the Alaskan campers for these two years, so please peruse them and soak in all the data they...

    Alaskan Brochures and company information

1998 sales booklet Leaping ahead in to the future, here is Alaskan Camper's 1998 sales booklet. The basic models have remained the same, standard and cab-overs in 8' and 10' lengths. The cab-overs are now available with either front or side dinettes. The fiberglass standard campers are long...

    Alaskan Brochures and company information

1971 Alaskan sales booklet This sales booklet is undated but I estimated its publication date based on the features of the GMC pickup truck pictured in it, which was manufactured from 1970 to 1972. So I took the middle production year of the GMC, 1971, as a possible printing date for this...
