RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Advertisements

Are you signed in & seeing them? I noticed them a while ago, but wasn't signed in. I wondered if that made a difference, so I signed in & they went away.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tire advice

I have a 2004 Tundra 4wd with an ATC Ocelet. It's a built out shell so probably somewhere in your trucks weight range. I originally had BFGoodrich KO2 tires. I felt that they didn't get the mileage they should have so when I had to replace them, I went with Falken Wildpeak at3w 265/75r16LT...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West ATC Ocelot in Bend, OR area?

Not in Bend - 4 hrs south. I have a 2004 Tundra & 2013 Ocelot. Certainly happy to answer any questions you might have in regards to suspension upgrades & a few modifications made to the Ocelot.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Owens Valley - May 2023

We did meet there. Apologies if I held you up. I was thinking you were with the first FWC that came through. My camper is an Ocelot. It's basically a Bobcat with a wider base since the Tundra is 48" between wheel wells. I ended up getting it in 2013 partly because of watching your Bobcat build...

Flower ID's from your blog. The yellow & white flower is a Basin yellow catseye or Mojave popcorn flower (Oreocarya confertiflora) The purple one is a Thistle Sage (Salvia carduacea) We crossed paths out there as I was in the area about the same time. Great to see your beautiful photos. Rick

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bears Ears; last minute planning

I've spent a fair amount of time exploring Bears Ears NM. There are basically three areas that most people visit. Lower Butler Wash (Comb Ridge), Cedar Mesa & the area up on Elk Ridge (through the Bears Ears formation). As Bill noted the upper elevations are probably still muddy from the snow...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Whitmore Overlook.... North Rim

There is a gate at the ranger station before the campground. A volunteer will check your permit. It's open at sunrise. There are plenty of camping spots right at the Nampaweap TH. You may have already seen the NPS info on the Mt. Trumbull scenic loop, but here's the link just in case...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Whitmore Overlook.... North Rim

C5 is more scenic. Not by a lot though, so it depends on what direction you are coming from. An alternative if coming from St. George: BLM 1069 leaves St. George going south connecting to C5 to 115 & Tuweep. It passes the Mt. Trumbull Schoolhouse & you can visit the Nampaweap Petrogylphs on the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Whitmore Overlook.... North Rim

I've spent considerable time on the North Rim, so I would caution against Kelly Point. I've been out there in a Rubicon & ATV and would not take my truck or anything not set up for extreme off-road. The park service doesn't do any road maintenance in the more remote areas & there's basically a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Whitmore Overlook.... North Rim

I have an '04 Tundra/ATC Ocelot with 10 ply. I find the road to Tuweep is harder on tires because of the sharp limestone. I've never had an issue on either road though. Air down to about 25 (from 40) & go slow.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Campsites @ Tuweep CG

No map, but hopefully this screenshot will work. The most private sites are the first ones to the right as you come into the campground. I marked them on the photo. The one with the X is my preferred site.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 40# Suspa Lift Supports **SOLD**

SOLD I have 4 Suspa 40# lift supports that I no longer need. Suspa C16-15952. Two were never mounted and still in the original packaging. Two were on the camper for a 2 month road trip on an All Terrain Ocelot and are clean with no issues. They were purchased from Lift Supports Depot. 35.43"...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Suburban NT-16SE furnace won't ignite

Is this a new install or a furnace you haven't used before? This may be the same problem I ran into last spring on a new install. Turned out to be the sail switch. My brand new one actually had the wrong one in it from the factory. You can test the switch by removing it but leave it hooked up...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Please help me decide on which GVW to order...

If you have a camper shell or camper (popup) on the truck you can register it non-commercial and save the weight fee. However, if you remove the shell/camper you will need to register commercial and pay the weight fee. I have a Tundra with an ATC Ocelot on permanently and it is registered with...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Direct Bolt on Flatbed

When I had my Ocelot shell built in Feb 2013, I asked ATC if they would use Skidguard plywood for the floor & bed over the truck. I had used it for river rafting boat frame floors & camp tables. It's a marine grade plywood with a textured, polyglass face. I offered to bring them a couple of...
