RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Motorcycle Carrier and Airbags?

most trucks have a weight rating for each axle. I usually weigh the front half of the truck on a truck scale then the back half. This gives a rough idea on how close to the axle rating you are. Note: if you get the truck centered right the two numbers you get should add up to your total.. I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Soliciting suspension upgrade suggestions

I think you have the suspension covered. Maybe make sure tires and brakes are in great shape also. also when looking for a replacement rig there is nothing wrong with a good used 3/4 or 1 ton.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC gas strut recall

Just had them do the recall on my Grandby today.. was completely happy with the job they did and they also swapped out the 20lb rear external struts for 30lb ones. made a nice difference in raising the back now.. there is no way on my Lance camper I used to have would they swap anything after...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hawk on a Ram 1500

I'm not offended in the least, the above were only my opinions and how the manufacturer sets the GVWR for vehicles. In general I do not trust dealerships or anyone who is trying to sell me something. Sales people seem to always want to sell you what they have, not what you want/need. always...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hawk on a Ram 1500

The certified GVWR(door sticker or glove box sticker) by the manufacture for a vehicle cannot be changed by the addition of air bags, springs, tires or anything else for that matter by the vehicle owner or the dealerships. Any service manager that tells you otherwise is uninformed or is being...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Yellowstone to Portland Need to find some adventure

Brownscamp area has alot of easier stuff. most everything is connected by gravel roads. The trails are clearly marked for difficultly. so lockers are not required. in fact my flatfender is open front and back which makes it more challenging. below is a clip of me there a few years ago..

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Best truck/engine for a FWC-Eagle model

In my opinion I would find out the loaded weight of the camper and with all the stuff you will have in it, then find a truck that is rated for that load. Being within your vehicles capacity brings peace of mind and much better vehicle handling.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Wallowa Lake Oregon 4th. July 2014

For our third trip we went to Wallowa Lake which is in Eastern Oregon. I had never been there and knew it was very commercialized, but heard that there was some good fishing. Also this will be a good chance to check fuel usage and see how long the batteries would last without a recharge. And...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West to regear or supercharger?

How does it do in low range in the sand? unless your looking for more performance anyways... the torque multiplication does wonders and nothing wrong being in 4th gear low range for extended periods of time. you might like the throttle response low range gives you also..
