I had some days unexpectedly drop into my lap, so I’m hitting the road in a caravan with my son. We’re looking for coastal routes in NorCal. Has anyone done the backcountry trail in the Lost Coast region? Any tips on access points, turns, etc, would be appreciated!

I've run both Falken Wildpeaks and Toyo A/T IIIs. Both are good. Nothing is as good in the snow as a dedicated snow like a Nokian Hakkapeliitta though. It's not worth changing anymore though.

Very cool and beautiful place, but no camping. I’m looking for something on the way to Bend/Sisters or even most of the way there, where I can spend the night.

I spoke to WeBoost at OE. The signal boost zone is fairly narrow, about a 20 degree cone, off of the face of the chocolate bar opposite of the side that says mount here. I’ve been disappointed in mine, but it wasn’t mounted right. This weekend’s project is to reconfigure it.

Certainly drive the Steens Loop if you haven’t planned that. If it’s dry you can camp right on the Alvord playa. There’s a hot springs there, although if you’re not that into them, I’d defer for the one in Heart. Be mindful of fuel. French Glen isn’t open on Sunday. I doubt Fields Station is...

I ordered the Drive Reach RV for our new build too. I watched an interesting review. The boost is strongest if your phone is very close to the inside receiver of the system.

It really depends on what hung you up, right? A lift won’t change the relationship between your axels and the ground. With a little work, you could probably squeeze 33s in without lifting at all. The lift would further increase your approach and departure angles.

Anyone feel that it’s enough of an improvement over the OG Mini to warrant an upgrade? EDIT: After watching a video on the differences, for me, and the way I use it, I'll stick with my original Mini.

I did that with some. I used tapered washers to dress it up. There were too many though from things a previous owner added. I didn’t want it to look like all the rivets in the Tin Woodsman!

For Miller there’s no right answer. It’s in between. I’d probably choose eggshell and hit it with a magic eraser if it flashes.

Sorry, it’s a bit of a hijack, but I too have that battery/alternator setup. Who pulls the wire from the truck to the camper? What’s the impact of under gauged wire in the truck or in the camper? Electronics pop my brain! :D
