I took it off and installed a fantastic fan in it's place. It was too inefficient as I pretty much only boondock. The AC needs to run off of AC power and the fan can run a long time (and throw more air) on DC power. Granted it wouldnt be as comfortable in hot climates, but then again, I try...

haha, sorry - lots of typos from typing on a iphone. I am all to familiar with the EGR having installed the kit on the truck.

I am not an expert about smog laws, but I am guessing this would not pass in California. EGR is Exhaust Gas Recalculation - it's generally dumps exhaust back into your intake to help burn it again. The problem is that the exhaust gases are dirty and really clog up the intake/valves/etc.
