That link looks to be correct but I used 30lbs instead of 40lb I guess it's up to you on the poundage but for me 30 worked great helps getting it raised but not so heavy that it's difficult to pull down.. Pretty easy to install also..

Sure,I just went to Ebay and bought 4 -36" 30lb lift struts and 8 offset brackets, really didn't have a part number but the vendor was "strut your stuff here" and it was all under $100 Yea these were from "strut your stuff" on ebay, great guy to deal with

Sorry for the late response I've been over on the portal with a expedition trailer build..Sewing is was the hard part for me but I think I"m a little better now with a better machine..I didn't double the material since I don't do a lot of cold weather camping and a single layer was hard enough...

Yea Dusty is correct ,try to find an extra jack. That 3 jack system was horrible to begin with,I found a single jack on ebay for a reasonable price….I've had this camper 20yrs or so and the 3 jack put on and take off always scared the heck out of me even under the best conditions..

I had thought about doing the same jack idea when I redid mine. I had some aluminum corners welded up to mount the jacks on,but just as you have, I have that same propane setup and I didn't want to remove an redo that side an the only alternative was to mount on the rear corners instead of the...

Wow that looks familar even the cushion fabric was the same as mine..Good luck and have fun with it.BTW I'm still using the same propane set up but I did take the furnace out years ago, which I still regret cause it still worked but it was kinda tough on the battery..

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West sideliner repair questions

I'm not sure I'd call this a mod,I would guess all FWC has some kind of attachment points on the inside of the liner with elastic straps so when you put your roof down the liner gets pulled in..

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Exterior Gas Strut Roof Lift Assists

Yep you can go on ebay and get everything you need for $100 or less for front and back.Off set brackets worked the best for me,just a little FYI and as far as instillation goes, pretty easy ,I think it was 2 holes per bracket an if you don't have any weight on the roof 30lbs is plenty..

Yea,please keep us posted,I'm sure it can be done a little cleaner and neater, just make sure you're camper is sitting level when you start,it makes life a lot easier. Good Luck

Thanks Bill,I actually did put a metal washer between the pipes but never really thought of the end caps, that would clean it up a lot as far as the tab goes,I was wanting them to bend back a little ,i guess hyperextended like the original panels(at least my old ones were) not that they have to...

The picture with the handle is over the bunk, the handle is just held up to the ceiling with the original snap strap, nothing fancy,I don't think I would want to depend on that strap to keep it from falling down but it works good enough to get up there to put the pin in,remember the old panels...

Awe almost forgot. My problem was I had the canvas off and the panels off at the same time and had no guidelines when I put the roof up and that's where a lot of my problems came from.It would've been much easier if I could've done it with the roof down in place but couldn't be done that way..If...

I'll try to post a few more pics later..This was supposed to be trial an error but it worked the first time and didn't want to mess around anymore. The hardest part especially since I did it by myself was to try to hold everything at the right height while drilling the conduit.I started with one...

Craig,I have no regrets with the conduit and the addition of the lift struts helped a lot.Probably if my camper was in better shape and the frame wasn't broke in the back I'd more than likely stayed with the original set up because I did make a new pair of panels but just wouldn't fold...

IT'S ON,IT'S ON !! What a job I forgot how hard it was to install one of these using only 3 jack, but I made it…Still have some work to do,I need to make curtains,do something with the battery and finish the side and rear awning. That side awning is supposed to be 8ft but it sure looks to be a...

The patch job went well even though I couldn't match the "egg crate" finish on the face,it won't leak again. The time was spent on redoing the frame and insulation. That took a lot of work just because it all needed to be 1 3/8" thick so the frame had to be ripped out of a 2x4 and the foam panel...

Hopefully the last BIG job to do before it goes on the truck. The door was in pretty bad shape,a couple holes and cracks in the fiberglass skin.I thought I'd just take the trim off, peel the skin off, replace it with a piece of 1/16" plastic i had and that would be that..LOL.. First the inside of...
