RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Getting into Cinematography

Here's a quick video shot a few minutes from my home with my new Mavic Pro I've been a photographer for many years, but these are my first tries in cinematography. I have A LOT to learn, but it should be a lot of fun. This was filmed at a local hiking area called Devil's Backbone. Shot in...

I'm trying out Infrared photography using an IR filter over one of my cameras. So far, I've just shot a few photos at the shop, so these aren't as scenic as they could be. This is also the first color IR photos I've processed. There's a lot to learn to make them look right, these are my first...

Over the weekend I decided to pack up my camera gear and get into the high country for some hiking and photography. This time I chose to hike the Chasm Lake Trail which winds its way up to a high mountain lake right below Longs Peak. It is an up and back hike roughly 8.5 miles and climbs...

That's a shame. BUT, that is an excellent image. The desert southwest is an awesome place, one of my favorite places to explore. There is so much hidden history there.

Thanks guys, I think it is going to be a great camera to use. Andy, the Medalist uses one of the best lenses ever created, a 100 mm F3.5 Ektar lens. It is a heliar design and is known to be extremely sharp. The Army Air core in WWII II took 200 of these cameras apart to use the lenses in a...

I recently won an auction on a camera I've been wanting for a while, a Kodak Medalist I in excellent condition. Whenever I get some new photo gear, I head up the canyon to Rocky Mountain National Park to test it out. It was a windy, wet day in the park with lots of overcast skies. Makes for some...

A lot of really great shots here! I thought I'd look through the countless thousands of RAW files I have and start processing them. First up is one I shot at Chaco Canyon, New Mexico a couple years ago. It was a nice moonless night and about as dark of skies as you can get in North...

I haven't posted here in a while, haven't taken many photos in a long time for that matter. Anyway, today I drove around my local area and did some large format photography. Conditions weren't very good, with white snow, white skies and extreme overcast/snowy conditions. Light was rather flat...

Very nice! Did this rock calve off a cliff or something? I'm wondering what made it split in two like this. The desert south west is my most favorite place to wander. The land just feels so old. Many places, especially where there are old ruins and petroglyphs, you feel watched, like the...

Here's a couple I just finished scanning, taken this weekend while on a camping/hiking trip in the Glenwood Canyon area of Colorado. Both shot on Velvia 50 slide film and developed with the Arista Rapid E-6 kit. Shot with a Zone VI 4x5 camera and Fujinon W 125mm F5.6 lens. This first one was...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Gradient filter mask in Light Room CC & 6

The Nik Software plugin (now owned by Google) works with both PS and LR. I find the Nik Software plugins invaluable in all my photography, including my film photography. There is SO much that it does that I'd seriously consider purchasing it. I think you can download a free trial of the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Gradient filter mask in Light Room CC & 6

It looks like a real usefull tool. I usually shoot with filters (cokin P series size), but this would be very helpful with landscapes where I would need to do a reverse grad for brightening areas. I also have the Nik Software line of plugins, and if you find the LR grad filter useful, you...

Some great shots everyone! This is my first home processed slide film (color film for that matter). I used the Arista Rapid E-6 kit. Just a shot of one of the lakes in my town. Taken with a Zone VI 4x5 camera and Fujinon W 125mm F5.6 lens, using a 2 stop graduated ND filter. Shot on Velvia...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Keystone Rebuild - Narrow Floor Pack, Redo Interior, Paint Exterior

Thanks everyone! I took out the camper this weekend to see how it works. My Dad, brother in law and nephew came along and we did some disc golfing, camping and exploring. First, we hit a disc golf course in the mountains. It was fun, but the course wasn't as good as some of the other...

Time for another update. Not long now until the final update as I am nearing completion! I finished all the wiring and working on the propane lines and made sure everything was in working order (I still have to install the CO/Propane alarm). Then, Friday, my sister, mom and I decided to...

Thanks! Yeah, there is quite a bit of room. That extra 18" really makes a lot of difference. Well, I got the memory foam mattress and CO/Propane alarm ordered. Also, after doing a lot of research, I picked up a 120 qt. Xtreme Marine 6 day cooler for $68.00. I figured for right now, I'll use...

I did end up using turnbuckles for the front, but I am still using ratchet straps for the back since the distance between the two eyelets are too far apart. Time for a little update. I finished up the chalk painting and waxing (no finished photos as it is still a mess). Next on the list...

Thanks! Another update. Today I installed the tiedown points on the four corners of the camper (didn't take any photos of that buy I can). I then installed some 1" high pressure treated boards along the full length of the camper. I did this because I wanted to have a little clearance...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Keystone Rebuild - Narrow Floor Pack, Redo Interior, Paint Exterior

Thank you everyone! No, I just painted the outside trim pieces. The previous owner fiberglassed and gelcoated the roof white and I am just going to keep it like that. I thought of taking the fiberglass off, but figured the little extra added weight will pay off in the better insulation it will...

Thanks everyone. I was just able to do one thing today to the camper (busy day today). I mixed up some grey epoxy and painted the exterior of the wood floor pack. I should have some time tomorrow to start in on painting the roof.

It was Rustoleum brand self etching primer. It was designed to use on aluminum. I first cleaned the aluminum with #00 steel wool before spraying the self etching primer. After it dried, I did an adhesion test and the primer was bonded solidly to the aluminum.
