Ah....so you're familiar with the extremely small print and never-ending paragraphs of his guidebooks ;) They are tedious to read but no other guidebook offers the same amount of info.

Sagebrush, The boats you use really depend on the type of trip you want to have. Certainly possible to do this float in rec/sea kayaks. The downside is that it will be more of a "backpack" style trip due to the limited space you will have for equip/water/food. Most folks do open canoes or...

There is a new rally that started this year. It's called Rocky Mountain Overland Rally. I believe it is organized by the same folks that hold the PNW rallies. We were not able to attend this year because we had family in town but plan to go next summer. Nate

We just returned from SW Colorado down by Ridgway and the colors were "stunning" as my GF put it. Camped in the same spot for five days and were able to see the daily change as the colors progressed.

I can guarantee that sailboat was not okay. I looked at a sailboat once that had been struck by lightning. It looked like someone stood inside and fired a shotgun through the hull.....many times.

Above trailer looks like an AT Overland deck model if I'm not mistaken. That would be a great little base for a trailer mounted FWC.
