sorry for the slow response ! on the city scales, 1000 lbs. we removed a lot of heavy chip board and replaced with stronger lighter Finn Birch plywood. a bad glue smell left with the chip board, now it is nice and fresh in there !

we have a Phoenix pop up camper for sale that we carry on our 03 Tacoma with a 5'3" box, tailgate lowered. on a full sized truck, a 4" platform would be needed as well as wider jack leg mount plates, both which I'd be willing to make up. the camper dimensions: box length - 6'3", width 37.5"...

more than 2 years later, you've likely got it figured... how about pieces of aluminum, pop riveted on to the outer latch, sloping in to very close to the side of the camper ? then you can really get into plowing Alders

thanks Joe, sounds sound to me. new to 4W camping, just setting up an 03 Tacoma dual cab for a small Phoenix camper. not wanting to reinvent the wheel, but skirting dodgy advice !
