RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Interstate 8 AZ to CA

I live in Tucson and head west on I-8 often enough. I can't imagine anything dangerous or potentially dangerous. A good share of it has been rebuilt over the last 4-5 years; traffic? Maybe. I like to stop at Dateland and get a date shake. Buy gas in Arizona before crossing into California.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West UTAH FILES SUIT AGAINST FED’S TO GAIN CONTROL OF LAND

It always amazes me how short sighted we as a culture/group of citizens can be. The level of greed is discouraging. Smoke, - what is WO in ...the WO only retracted it when...?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Favorite Books

There is a new book about communication among plants. The title is The Light Eaters: how the unseen world of plant intelligence offers a new understanding of life on earth, by Zoe Schlange, published this year, 2024. This is her first book, I think she was a mainstream journalist covering the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A Cautionary Trailhead Tale

I've followed the Wander Women for a while, it just seems a little odd that the tow was necessary; they could have just as easily replaced the belt at the trailhead and avoided the $600.00 expense. It is hard to imagine anyone's insurance covering them riding in their truck on the tow truck...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A couple adventures in North Central Idaho

Thanks for the report and the videos. The flower ID was helpful, I've struggled with it. Years ago I encountered some small books on tree ID by May Theilgaard Watts and Tom Watts that were very helpful: structured like- If this....go... I bought Weeds of the West, and Plants of Arizona, and I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West In Search of San Rafael Swell, UT - May 2024

Thanks the trip report and the photos. The engineering report was interesting and fun too, you always want to know that The inclination of the beds actually has been added to their competence. Amazing how much fun language can be.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mokelumne Wilderness - June 2024

To say your hike was ambitious is a grand understatement. I think we have mountains here, I have a good view of the Santa Catalina Mtns from my front porch, but then I am always bowled over by your photos of/in the Sierras. Thanks

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Arch Canyon Trail in Organ Pipe National Monument

In early March I hiked the Arch Canyon Trail up to the arches. I really enjoyed it. It is too hot these days to consider it of course. I will get back there to hike further into the canyon itself. I wasn't sure if it was simpler to try to describe the hike in WtW or create a web page to do...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Wandering in Oregon - May 2024

Another great trip. You have a very level headed associate: “I didn’t retire to work someplace else, thank you very much,”! although: “We are hiking every trail!” might be a little daunting. I have a friend who threw away an almost new pair of sweatpants after getting them coated with the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West South to Spring: Death Valley, Mojave, Joshua Tree, Anza Borrego, Organ Pipe

That was quite a comment the other hikers made about no view at the end of the trail. I did hike up to the arch, it was a bit of work, but way worth it. I thought the Bull Pasture Trail was one of the nicer constructed trails in the desert, the cut steps and switchbacks formed so well to the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Death Valley - April 2024

What a great trip, and you were able to share it with your friend. Your point and shoot did a fine job, very nice photos. I should probably head to Volcanic Tablelands, someplace even I might not be able to avoid finding/seeing petroglyphs!! What is the latest in the season you guys have...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West South to Spring: Death Valley, Mojave, Joshua Tree, Anza Borrego, Organ Pipe

Following your trip and seeing your photos has been great, but like Vic's experience, no photos load on the last installment. I think we may have stayed in the same campground that you used in Joshua Tree!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Overland Route - Organs Loop

Oh the adventures! I'm not familiar with New Mexico east of the Continental Divide, but Silver City is both a fun and interesting place. Even with bright lights, driving rough roads at night is problematic. The brighter the lights, the darker/deeper the shadow. Sedona is in a spectacular...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Overland Route - Panhandle Adventure Trail

What a great trip, thanks. I generally think of the east as being full of people, so it is surprising to see you write: since there is normally not another soul within a dozen or more miles of me. I believe I would avoid any place where men, alcohol, and weapons mixed.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The Lady's Birthday Adventure - October 2023

What a great way to celebrate the birthday. I thought of you guys more as adventurers than peak baggers, I may have to reevaluate. Great photos, in your back yard post too. Was the rock art in the photos what you initially searched for?? I don't have a camper, we usually sleep out so on cold...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West An Adventure to Celebrate Our 40th Annivesary - September 2023

Congratulations on the anniversary. Great hiking and photos. It wasn't real clear from your narrative, was your new friend Bud skimming the cash? I think Serena Supplee has a gallery or store in Moab, worth a visit for sure. I was introduced to her at the Edge of the Cedars Museum in Blanding...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Overland Route - Georgia Traverse

That looks like a great trip. I was surprised you were still driving and crossing streams in the night. With the shadows created by the headlights, I try to not drive on any unpaved or rough roads after the sun is headed down.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fly Fishing Oregon & Idaho Wilderness - August 2023

What a spectacular setting, and to have it mostly to yourself. Judging from those tailing piles, Elmer was pretty ambitious. Do you ever eat any of the fish you catch??
