RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 1972 Hydroflame furnace operation

I was able to find some documentation on the fan. It has a thermostat which generally take about 15 minutes to close the switch. Then the fan is operated from the battery.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 1972 Hydroflame furnace operation

Thanks a lot for the reply. That makes sense, the fan being optional, cause I wasn’t able to find any examples of the unit with the blower. Interesting. It could be a thermocoupled fan I’ll have to run it longer and see if it kicks in. I wasn’t able to jump it with a battery.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 1972 Hydroflame furnace operation

Can someone instruct me on the operation of the furnace. I can light the pilot light and get the main gas valve to open and light, and stay lit. Is there no blower motor on them. RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 1972 CO Lower door spreading at top

Thank you. That answers my question. I'll just shim it and not bother getting the plate welded in that case. The other benefit of the shims will be they take some strain off the tie down anchors.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 1972 CO Lower door spreading at top

I know this has been discussed before but I have a couple questions. Has anyone come up with a permanent solution to this rather than shimming the camper. The metal plate below the door frame is fractured on each side. Would replacing this fix the problem or are there deeper issues which cause...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Batteries locations in older Alaskans and wiring

Thanks. Yeah i figured it wouldn't be too difficult even if they're not designed for it. I've read about some people putting the battery in the bed, but I'm assuming they're worried about the battery off-gassing. I read the manual for the 1969 version and it made no mention of an internal...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Batteries locations in older Alaskans and wiring

Hey everyone. I'm starting to try to hunt down an 8' or 10' CO. Most likely 70's up to 90's model depending on what i can find in my budget. I'm just trying to get a clear idea of what I'm getting into. I keep reading about people running the campers off the truck battery and draining their...
