three-way fridge unusable? should i get a two way?

I replaced my 3 way refrigerator last year with a dc compressor refrigerator. A lot happier with the performance of the new refrigerator. 3 way refrigerators are very temperamental about how level they are and also are only good at bringing the temperature down a certain amount below ambient...

    Bolting rotopax to back wall

I mount my rotopax on my Jack mount. That way I didn’t have to put any additional holes in my camper. Just made a bracket to mount rotopax holder to Jack mount.

    Rethinking the Toyota’s tires

I recently switched from 265/75 16 ko2s to 235/85 16 ko2s on my 2005 Tacoma . I like them just fine, don’t really notice any difference in ride quality at all. Recently did a 4000 mile road trip on them, they worked great. It does take a bit to get use to the narrow look of the tire, because...

    Has something changed with WTW

You are right, does seem to only be a problem when not logged in. In the past it didn’t matter. I mostly view using an iPad with safari.

    Has something changed with WTW

I seem to get a lot of pop up adds when looking at new content on the forum that I never got in the past?

    roof lifting helper shocks thingys

I had the same experience as Riverrunner with my 40 lb struts. Could barely get it down in the front so I took my front struts off until I added a 175 watt solar panel on top toward the front and reinstalled my front struts. Now it is well balanced and works great.

    Replaced Refrigerator

Just got back from a 4 night trip with the new refrigerator. Worked like a dream, steady 36 degrees, never got down below 8o% on battery always full recharge on solar only before noon. Didn’t drive for 4 days so dc to dc charger never came into play. Liking my new refrigerator, and solar set up.

    Replaced Refrigerator

How level do you need to keep a compressor refrigerators? My driveway has a slope to it, so in the past with my absorption refrigerator I would always level my truck. Thinking and hoping that I don’t need to do this with my new refrigerator.

    Replaced Refrigerator

I switched out my Domenic rm2193 absorption refrigerator to a Domenic Crx65 compressor refrigerator. Even though my old absorption refrigerator functioned correctly in all 3 modes it just struggled to hard in the heat, and wouldn’t keep things cold enough when ever the temperature outside was...

    roof lifting helper shocks thingys

I just added a 200 watt solar panel on top of my camper. Now with this configuration 40 lb struts are working for me. I installed the solar panel toward the front, with out struts I can just barely get the front up, with the struts it is no problem. Without solar panel I had to leave the front...

Tire Width - Which is Better?

Just so happens when I replaced my tires recently, that I went with 235/85r16 from previous 265/75r16 on my Toyota Tacoma. Same diameter, lighter and cheaper.

    Extension brackets to mount jacks?

I went ahead and made extension plates out of 6” wide 1/4” thick flat bar. Drilled my holes 1” in on both sides this gave me an extra 4” more on each side of the truck. Mine are made of steel and are quite heavy, but I don’t leave my jacks on anyway, when the camper is on the truck.

Locked myself out of my camper today.

I don’t know if anything has changed.Just glad it happened at home and not on the road. Once I get the replacement I’m assuming all will be good for along time.

Locked myself out of my camper today.

Locked myself out today. Had the key turned about half way while still locked and the key came out, couldn’t get the key back in and finish locking or unlocking. Thank goodness I was at home, eventually got the door open. Have a new door lock on order. It is a Bauer door latch on my ATC Bobcat.

Installed Camper for another season of camping.

I got my ATC Bobcat installed on my Tacoma pickup for another season. Always very nerve racking for me. I have to Jack up the camper very high on a sloped drive way, this always makes me nervous. Also I had cheaped out on harbor freight wheels for my dolly that didn’t roll well on the exposed...

    Tailgate on or off?

The thing about tailgate on, is one I also believe it makes it hard to enter, and in case of a Toyota Tacoma you can’t lower the spare tire, if the tailgate is down.

I would think you would want your IOTA inverter coming off the house batteries. Otherwise it looks ok to me.

    Vinyl Wrap

Has anyone ever used vinyl wrap on their camper? I was thinking about adding a stripe around my ATC Bobcat camper and didn’t really want to paint it on and was thinking about vinyl wrap, not sure how it would work on the textured siding.

I like the idea of a chair bag to store them in. I’m going to do this.

    Outer window coverings.

What do most people do with their outer window coverings on an Allterrain Camper? I’ve only put mine on once when I thought a serious storm was rolling in. Otherwise most of the time I have them rolled up and placed under my bench seat in the camper.

License and title on FWC in WA state

I didn’t have a problem with licensing in Washington, because my Allterrain Camper had all ready been titled in Washington. I had a problem with the sale tax, because the department of licensing wanted me to pay taxes on an inflated sale price. I was able to resolve the sale tax problem by...

    Switched to Lithium Batttery

Just made the switch to Lifepo4 battery. A neighbor gave me a 100ah Lion Energy battery and I swapped out my Vmax agm battery. Cann’t believe the difference 100ah of usable power vs 50 ah (agm) usable power, also 25lbs vs 63lbs. I’m running a Renogy dc to dc mppt charger to keep it all happy...

    Heater and Voltage

I believe what Bigfoot Dave is implying, that the voltage at the battery or the furnace can be different because of voltage drop across the supply leads to the furnace. To small or long supply leads or a bad connection can drop voltage to the furnace. That’s why it is kind of important to...
