Retired and bored with a class A bouleward motorhome I wanted something to go anywhere,a comfortable light 4x4 camper that I can also use as a toad.Settled for a Dodge Dakota quad as grand kids come along sometimes. The camper would be a FWC Eagle or ATC Bobcat. The freezerless 1.9 cu.ft. fridge and 8ft awning was a No No.After researching many days I came up with the Dometic fridge, model CR 1080 It is 2.8 cu.ft with a small freezer. This 12 volt fridge uses only a cycling average of approx 2 amps per hour at 80 degrees F.The quiet Danfoss compressor uses 134A refrigerant that works much better in extreme heat and up to a 30 degree angle. As for the awning the Fimma F35 Pro is 10 ft wide, pulls out 7.5 ft and weighs only 23 lbs. Only Ben at ATC was approachable in this matter. He checked out my ideas and liked them.My buddy Ross who has Ford Ranger said, order a Bobcat like that for me too.We added a 27 series 100 amp gell battery for extra capacity. Furnace, sink, stove and artic pakage compliment the rest of this camper heaven.I can say that after 7 months and 6000 miles of use,we are extremley happy. On Sunday I am heading south (too much cold snow here) for Palm Springs,Yuma etc with the motorhome and the camper as toad.Ben you did a hell of a job,on time and budget.I will try to attach a some pictures.

Welcome, Herman

I like the way you outfitted your rig. You have me interested in swapping out the fridge for one like yours. I will have to check out the dimensions to see if it is possible. I also like the idea of extra battery amperage. Can you please mention the battery brand and model?

Thanks,
Ted

Looks like the lake you are parked at is in the caribou or central British Columbia?

Batteries

If you want the best deep cycle battery money can buy, then its a Rolls, not made by Rolls Royce, they are the best, but they aren't cheap.

I worked for MB 37 years. The batteries I get have slight shipping damage. My cost I dare not print.
