Anyone else looking forward to the FWC Tesla Cybertruck edition?

No, there has been no announcement ... I'm just imagining ... but FWC should be taking a hard look at this and get one ready to roll ASAP IMHO.

Oh please! If the Tesla Cybertruck is as ugly and with the ridiculous bed design, I would hate to see a FWC 'space age', 'look at me', 'I am green' camper stuffed into one...

Just my take, but I am old and could be wrong!

But hey here is order page:

Way too early to be doing anything but brainstorming. There aren't even any production prototypes to use for mockup.

A Project "M" type cap would be easy to develop.
Anything larger would be very difficult.

Electric vehicles and especially the cyber truck does not work for me and my uses; so zero interest.

I don't think the cyber truck is the best candidate - but electric trucks are coming and thinking about the possibilities is an interesting exercise. What about an F150 with an electric drivetrain? I would consider it.

Now an electric jeep with hub motors would be awesome! It would be like having front and back lockers locked all the time but without any impact on steering. But wait. There is more. Tank Turns:

Seems to me that FWC caters to the boondocking crowd that prefers to spend vacation time away from civilization, so would have no way to charge it. As Ski suggested, if it can be charged via solar, that would work. Even if it took a few days sunshine to charge, that would work for me for some if not most of my camping. No idea if that is doable with current solar technology.

Truly boondocking in a solar powered vehicle assumes there is sunshine....sufficient sunshine to get you out of the boondocks. Even our FWC onboard batteries supported by solar sometimes necessitate running the vehicle motor.

A Tesla Model S gets about 4 miles per 1KWh.
So for every 100W of solar, you can get a about 2 miles added range per day of good sun.

My Tacoma/Fleet has about a 300 mile range - which is actually less that what the 4wd Cybertruck gets (300 - 500miles).

That is probably empty.. with a camper, add a little wind and cold...some mountains.. and you probably can go 200 miles..

36 gallon tank in F150.. easily gets me 500+ miles per tank, with camper..

I've been temporarily stranded for many reasons over the decades...

But now too old to call the tow truck guy and explain my "dilithium crystals" are toast due to a lack of sunshine the past 3 days.

In all seriousness, for me to make a complete move away from fossil fuels in a multi-week adventure platform (truck/camper/ALL accessories), a tremendous technological leap in energy storage must occur. I know many folks/companies are working on the storage problem, but, a rock solid solution must exist before I make the jump. And even then, not sure I could afford the technology as a fixed income retiree!

But heck...dreaming is half the FUN!!!

Otoh, calling in to work would be fun. I'll be in as soon as the sun comes out to charge my batteries.

I can see an upside. Guess I'll just have to stay here at the hot springs until I'm recharged (literally and figuratively) :)

Well, I'm now thinking a wind generator charging system should be added. The faster you drive, the more electric power produced for the batteries. Could this become a perpetual motion machine? I hope not. I don't want to leave Craig's hot springs.
