Backup Camera for 2018 Ford F350

My 2018 Ford F350 had a different camera connector than my old truck. So I purchased a new camera and cable from: Bob's Automotive Mirrors & More LLC

It has the correct plug to connect to the ford dash display.
He has other cameras and cables if you want to use a different camera location or brand of truck.
I mounted the camera to the bottom mount of my Lend-A-Hand RV Hand rail.

I drilled a hole in the bottom of the mount and cut a slot to allow the cable to hang down the bottom and not get trapped against the wall. I connected the camera cable and extension cable and used grease to keep water out of the connector. I plugged the cable into the truck plug and also put the dust cover on the cable for the tail gate latch. I did cover the camera cable with a 1/4 inch hose to protect the cable. I used a cable clamp to secure the wire to the camper. It is important to tell Bob what year and brand of truck you have to ensure getting the correct equipment.

Thanks for the write up. Im going to wire in this camera for my Toyota pickup soon. I'm trying to decide on mount options tho. It's too bad FWC doesn't have this option (in wall) to pick from during the order process. It would be neat to just have a pigtail hanging down when you back under the camper.

That would be really clean, but I suppose it would limit things during resale.

Is there a nut used to secure the lens housing or just a clip? I didn't see anything in the photos.

I agree with Hardwood that Bobs is a great source;
I used the same camera setup from Bobs but I mounted my camera on the top of my camper rear LED light fixture up near the roof as it provides a massive area behind the truck while in reverse on the screen.
So for instance if there is a limb up high that may come in contact with your roof, it will see it.

For our Tacoma, I removed the wire and camera from the tailgate, which was pretty easy. Then I straightened out a 90 deg carpenter bracket from the hardware store and hacksawed it until I had a workable bracket for the camera. That was screwed into the wood frame at the bottom of the camper. It's about 12" lower than it was on the tailgate, so the lines are messed up. But it's way better'n nothing! We'll have a spotter behind the camper when backing in, and the spotter has to duck down so the driver can see hand signals. Wow, rear view cameras are the best thing since... campers.

I wanted to say thanks to Hardwood for this thread....I needed a camera to replace my tailgate cam but hadn't yet begun to search for a source.... logged in and there it was!

I contacted Bob's Automotive Mirrors and More and with three e-mail exchanges over two days I have a camera enroute...including a custom cable at the exact length I needed and for less than the e-bay list price. Bob's has great customer service!
