After finding myself with a dead truck battery in the Sierras, miles from anyone and considering a long expensive tow, no cell phone service and I had forgotten my SPOT,I am installing a SurePower battery separator on my 05 Tacoma. This last time i was able to remove my camper battery and jump the Tacoma with it. The truck battery had actually mechanically died, internal short perhaps from the rough road in. A decided pain. So now I installing a battery separator with start assist. (Surepower 1315) I am running 4 gauge wire between the separator and the aux camper battery but am not sure what sort of a connector to use at the truck camper connection as the camper comes off the Tacoma periodically. The connector has to be be able to handle the starting current, probably about 200 amps as well as be reasonably easliy unplugged. Has anyone had any experience with this problem or any recommendations?

you dont see this approach much.

anderson power makes high-current connectors used for forklift and golf cart batteries.
they can handle jumper cable size wire.

that is what I have seen people using (the forklift or winch wiring)

it is usually a big beefy set of red connectors.
