Batwing awning gap

Any ideas on how to weather proof the gap of the batwing awning to the Hawk over the door?

I want to say that some of the awning vendors offer solutions for that gap, but the pool noodle or pipe insulation idea has a great deal of appeal.

Post #334 here describes a gutter I made using awning channel and keder strip. Works really well.
