Camping between Reno and Palo Alto

I need to travel to the Stanford Medical Center for an appointment on Friday and plan to take the truck and camper. We've made the round trip several times in one day and that is just too stressful. I'm wondering if anybody knows where I can pull off and crash overnight along I80 or I5 around Tracy. I want to get within 2 hours of Palo Alto so I don't have to stress about getting there in time. Any info is appreciated.

If you want to be within 2 hours of Palo Alto on Friday, you should plan to camp a lot closer than Tracy. That is unless you have an 11am appointment. If it's before 11am, it could take 2 hours to get to Hayward.

I don't know if within two hours or not, but we've stayed at Henry Cowell S.P. in the past.

Thanks for the info, I guess I'll drive the car and get a room in Vacaville or somewhere so I can get into Palo Alto by 10am.

There is camping at Mt. Diablo in the Walnut Creek area. That's a couple hours from Sanford.
