It seems some people are using the Dee Zee heavy duty rubber bed mat under their campers.

Has anyone had problems with water drainage?

I did not get instructions but it seems like others are recommending keeping it 1/4" back from the front wall. The mat has dimples that are supposed to promote drainage.

What do people think about cutting drain holes to match the drain holes in the bed? I am thinking of cutting oversized holes between 1/4"-1/2" over the existing drain holes in the bed.

I will be calling them tomorrow. I just thought I would get opinions from real users with truck campers.

Thanks,

Mike

Nope.

I wouldn't worry about it. I had a Grandby sitting on a bed mat on the same truck for twenty some years. When I sold the rig the camper base was fine and the bed mat and truck bed looked almost new. Only thing I noticed was some paint abrasion from the dimples....but no rust.

On my new truck though, I went with the LineX spray in bed liner with a bed mat on top of that.
