do you lower tire pressure when you remove camper

I have E rated tires. I run 50/55 psi with camper on for highway miles. Should I lower pressure with camper off?

My only experience with E tires is with camper on, so don't know if I should continue with high pressures.

The tire load limit will decrease as pressure is reduced. Your tire manufacturer probably can provide tables and if you know your axle weights (loaded and unloaded) then you can reduce pressure accordingly. Here is a sample link for Toyo tires.

IMO you need to lower the tire pressure without a load or
the tires will wear in the middle of the tread and not the whole tread.
Same for under inflation the tires will wear on the side of the tread more.

Also braking might be better with proper inflation for the rear axle. On our setup, all the camper load is on the rear axle.
