Driveway too steep to unload?

We have had our camper a year now and the time has finally come where we need to do truck things so I need to remove the camper temporarily. It would only be on the jacks long enough to pull the trailer forward under it and lower it down. It is about 1500 pounds dry.

Pic attached. Driveway too steep?

Very interested. We have almost the exact driveway setup. Lifting ours off last summer was easy; but, we only lifted it to inspect the truck bed itself after 2 years.

My current idea is to lift the camper, then put a "Chocked" trailer underneath; Then using the truck to back the trailer into the garage for winter storage.

Could you do it in the street if it's going to be a quick operation?

Howdy
You are wise to be thinking about this. When loaded on a trailer the FWC camper is awkward. Maybe because of the overhang...not sure. I would make also sure to keep the camper top down and locked if you are moving the camper while mounted on a trailer.

and of course dont hit the overhang on the back of your truck.

Ours has a similar angle. We put blocks under the lower end and lift the lower end first, keeping the camper level as we lift it off the truck.

That's what I do too

Do you put a wedge under your blocks to level it out? Otherwise the jacks will tend to walk downhill unless they are on something level. I don't think my driveway is quite that steep, but I have notice the jacks walking a little bit.

Thanks guys I’ll play it safe and use the street. Didn’t even think about the sleeping area possibly hitting the truck while maneuvering. Will be interesting!

dont some folks use a boat winch to pull a trailer, or rolling pallet up into garage??
