I have a few days off for a five night adventure. Looking to explore some newer territory. Anyone have suggestions for a good route and maybe some mid September fly fishing, lake or river, in the Olympics?

Sure would to get away up to your country before nasty weather comes back.
Have a good trip.
Interested to hear how your new camper works.
Question. What is the inside height from the sleeping bed to the ceiling?

We were there in July. Best campground was Deer Park CG. No water, pit toilets, 5400ft and every step seemed to be uphill in any direction, but many wildflowers, few people most likely due to no water and miles of curvy, gravel, largely single lane road to campground from Port Angeles. Be sure that you have enough water for your visit.

Hoh CG is probably best for fishing as it is on Hoh River. It had nice walk along river with access for fishing.

Heart of Hills CG was nice CG with the camp host known as the Dark Ranger. He swore it wasn't due to his black Ford Ranger pickup, but because he gave astronomy talks on Hurricane Ridge at night.

Staircase CG was great for the huge cedar trees and hike among the large boulders in and around the Skokomish River.

A county park at Dungeness Spit Recreation Area has a decent campground with showers and walking to the Dungeness NWR. Good place to get sunset photos along the Strait of Juan de Fuca with ships going by and views of Vancouver Island. We stayed one night for the showers but were pleasantly surprised at the area. http://www.clallam.net/Parks/Dungeness.html

I am leaving for CO for 1 week starting 9/15 if you are interested, if you haven't already taken off on your trip. Basically a boondocking trip and might hit up a friends driveway too.
