Finished my Lithium upgrade.
I purchased a Battleborn bundle the week before Black Friday. Took this long to do the install due to a TKR on Nov 8th. Install took almost two weeks of part-time work due to my knee still being sore. The first item on the list was to build a rack to hold the two 8D batteries stacked on top of each other. Used 1/4 x 2-inch flat bar bent in a "U" (2) with a 1" sq tube frame welded in to hold the top battery. Screwed into the floor. Both batteries are set on plywood. Installed the following behind the driver's seat. Two Battleborn 270 Ah batteries, two Victron DC-DC 30 amp chargers. Fused on the positive into and out of each DC-DC chargers. Feed to the charges from the 150 amp circuit breaker behind the driver's seat. Victron 712 monitor with 500 amp shunt. 400 amp main fuse to the disconnect switch. Bus bars for the positive and negative connections. All wires in and out of the DC-DC chargers are installed with square ferrule wire cable end-sleeves. Ran 4/0 red and black wire to the rear of the van. Connected to bus bar distribution blocks to connect the existing battery wires. Purchased wire and lugs from Amazon. I did have to purchase a few tools, 4/0 crimper, square ferrule crimper, cable crimper, and a small heat gun for the shrink tubing. Total cost $4,746.67 Next job to build a maple cover to hide the batteries from view with a shelf on top.

Very impressive Bill. I like how well laid out the install is done. That is a lot of bending and kneeling for a new knee. The cabinet can wait a little bit. You want to make sure it heals well.

540AH? Wow. Nice setup. Remind me again how many Watts of solar you have? Trying to figure out the dual MPPT.

Also, I would want to make sure those batteries will not move in an accident. Are they anchored to the shower and/or side wall too?

Yes 3 inch screws in the the corners of the shower into 2x3. The wall of the show may be only 3/16. Four screws into the floor and batteries have blocks front and back to keep from moving. Each held down with two 3 inch heavy velcro straps.

EDIT: Not dual MPPT. Those are 30 amp DC-DC chargers. Only 200 watts of solar.
