We got one a year and a half ago. It is perfect for the purpose you suggested. It made some socially distanced small group get togethers much more pleasant during the spring and fall.

it is a great way to socially distance! we have a washing machine barrel. I built some legs it breaks down for travel. we rarely take it.... some ski resort trips. But its great to have on our deck (concrete). This time of year we sleep out side on the deck its covered as well ..with the fire glowing its pretty precious.

That fire pit reminds me of something, I just can't put my finger on it. Oh well, I'll just throw some clothes in the washer while I think about it.
