I am seeking a stock or updated Furnace for a 2008 FWC Hawk.

I have a near perfect Hawk....oddly, the PO removed the stock furnace in order to upgrade and never completed the project.

Newer the better .

Many thanks

I’d ask Stan what he suggests.. They may be able to recommend models that are an exact fit into the factory installation.
Maybe they have a model earlier than the current product where they could give you a deal.

Were it me, I’d consider a Propex like some here have installed.

Thanks Paul

Yes obvious choice is to call FWC.

I bought a 2008 Hawk complete build on the notion we might like it better than our Hawk shell.

Oddly, PO removed furnace as mentioned.

Now we have decided to keep the Hawk shell as it just fits like a glove for our sort of use.

I hope to install a nice furnace and put the 2008 up for sale.

It has been camped in twice by original owner.

BTW, Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Thanks Larry

The PO of this 2008 Hawk had intentions of installing a Propex.

Why do you like it ?

I am mostly installing an original system in order to sell the camper.

I have decided our Hawk shell serves our camping/travel needs just fine.

The Propex was very compact, quiet, used very little propane and very little battery power. Our new Hawk shell has the factory installed furnace. I will say that I'm impressed that it is much quieter than the older furnaces, but it does seem to use more propane than the propex did.

I installed a larger solar/battery system in the Hawk myself, (200 watts of solar and two 260 AmpHr 6 volt AGM batteries) to compensate for the larger amp draw with the factory furnace. The Hawk has two 10lb propane tanks, the Eagle shell had one 10lb tank.

I do think the factory furnace heats the camper quicker because it has a much more powerful blower and higher BTU rating, hence the increase in amp draw and propane consumption. Everything is a trade off. LOL
