mtn rolls the cart into the aisle and flips on the Blue Light...

FWC "Table" - Pay the postage-and it's yours.

I thought someone doing a dinette mod/etc. might be interested in a second leg/tabletop/base (no screws in base)....so I am offering the totally bitchin' one out of my unit to anyone who wants to pay the postage to recieve it.

Yes, it was a very tough decision...and it may be something I regret all my days...but so be it.

I'll post again when/if it's gone :thumb:

Depending on postage, I'd probably take it if no one else does.

Pods,

I'm out of breath from shovelling the latest offering from the Snow Gods (another 6" in 1.5 hours this AM and still DUMPING)....but I'm gonna guess the table top is approx 20" x 36". It sits on a flimsy base that's about 18" x 18...and is held up by a metal pole that inserts into metal fixtures mounted on the top/base.

Basically...it's a hunk of junk, IMO. Too big to be a good rolling tray:p...too flimsy to trust with a good meal on it...and basically...>in the way< for what it is. However, as they say..."One man's trash...".

Either way, I can see the parts being used in a retro and I hate to toss 'em out.

A nice folding table (or cleverly designed FOLD OUT table intermeshed with the cabinetry) would be a good replacement for FWC to look into, IMO...or heck...knock some cash off the purchase price and let folks do their own thing and find a decent FOLDING table/etc. on their own if they want to have a table at all. (we don't)

If anyone else wants it feel free as I'm undecided since I really haven't sat down to heavily brainstorm the table to go with the couch mode I'm slowly tinkering with. I'll circle back around if I see that size as usable and no one else grabbed it. Thanks for the offer. :thumb:

Edit: We got a minor snow here as well, although it'll probably just start raining in the mountains this afternoon and trash it anyways as it has most of the winter...

What's This All Mean?

If there is any one thing that these kinds of postings say, plus the numerous other postings on how many people have re-designed the seating in their campers (including me) is that 4WC needs to really think about the whole seating and table offerings for their products. There are a very large number of people who apparently don't like the current solutions. But, then again.....it could very well be, that there is no way to please everyone and it's a lost cause (probably the real answer). Hummmmm, I wonder if there is some kind of cool Japanese transformer solution that you can create multiple configurations with one design?

Well, I certainly don't care for mine, most of the time. It was nice to have the one time I was with a bunch of tenters and the weather turned cold. We piled into my camper and played poker on the table. But thats the only time I can think of it ever got used.

Hey Mtn and Dirty Dog.... I might just take one of those tables off your hands. My Hawk started life with limited options, has been modified but no table. Are they both the same? as in free standing or do they attach to a base plate screwed to the floor? I can see a few hands of Texas Hold-em and extra cash in my future.:thumb:

table

Yeah, the table was always in the way.

I had FWC retro ft the new dinette option in my Hawk. My girlfried and I just love the table now.

I had them build me a table 3 inches wider than the standard one....and it works out just fine.

My table is up in the rafters now. I can't quite get myself to toss it or give it away yet, you never know what might happen down the road.
