FWC wants $150 for the wiring harness (puts it near $200 in Canada). I can get the female end no problem, but curious what fuse/breaker I should be using? Can I just use a standard inline fuse, and if going up in awg just a larger amp, or do I need to source this mystery ‘thermal fuse’ that’s on their drawing?

A “thermal fuse” in this case means a traditional electric current limiting fuse. Nothing magical about it. The fuse needs to be small enough to protect the wire and large enough to prevent nuisance fuse opening.

What size wire are you going to run? I ran 2G welding wire I got from Princess Auto. For the fuse, I used Blue Sea 285 Series surface mount 100A breakers on each end of the positive wire.

6G is probably enough for most folks....
