I found this pic in our local newspaper and thought some of you might find it interesting. This is an avalanche on the lower west side. They started working from both sides about a week and a half ago and usually finish early to mid-June. It's been a light snow year so unless we get dumped on this Spring the pass should open early.

Hi Realbtl,

When are the higher hiking trails mostly clear of snow?

Stew- Kind of hard to say but in general July clear for sure, June probably, May questionable. Depends on how high, what kind of Spring weather we have, how much exposure on a particular trail. If you're up high in June be prepared for snow in some spots. 2 years ago we had 4" on June 12th in the valley, much more up high.

Thanks, Reatbtl. Maybe I'll get up there again later this summer.
