How long do roof struts last?

The exterior part of the struts are showing a fair amount of corrosion. I’ve got a 2014 Fleet. Also, are some strut brands better then others?

I live at the coast so salt in the air can corrode things.
My struts started to show a few small pits of corrosion.
I cleaned the pits sprayed a little red rust primer and wrapped
them with electrical tape and that seemed to solve the problem.
I have had my struts for 10 years and no issues.

Noticed the same thing on my struts. Wipe them down a few times per year with some gun lube, both the housing and the shaft when extended..

Beach that's a good idea.
I wipe mine down also.
Whenever the top is up
wipe them.
