Just thought I would make those techie enough know that Dacien Todea has started a new Kickstarter project on his second version of his Solar BMS. His first version last year did very well and with the prices of Lithium technology becoming more attractive, it is starting to get some attention. Check it out if you want to be on the bleeding edge of battery technology.

It's going to be a while before they are delivered (fall 2015) but there are lots of small improvements over the SBMS4080. I really like my LiFePo batteries and the SBMS4080. I have supported the SBMS100 on Kickstarter and will install it hopefully sometime this fall.

Yes, I'm hopeful that he will complete his SBMS100 as well. I like the wifi addition and 2nd input. In the mean time, I'm still waiting for his second batch of SBMS4080. I went ahead and purchased a 100ah LiFePo4 and now working on getting my existing Morningstar MPPT solar controller to work with that battery. The Morningstar is programmable and I have been able to configure voltage set points that will work with Lithium. I also had to get separate cell balancers to perform the cell balance function. Not that expensive for the cell balancers but the SBMS4080 is much more elegant.
I'll be posting my progress for those interested as soon as I get all the small pieces I need to complete the wire up.

As a reminder, anyone thinking of going Lithium should look at this Kickstarter project. It is ending soon and based on the previous project, this will make the integration of a Lithium solution much easier.

I looked into the kickstarter program and the new BMS looks pretty cool with a nice color screen and remote monitoring. I am pondering it as I don't even have a truck yet but would like to see it funded so it will be there when I am:) Dacian has answered questions for me and seems very well versed.
