Maiden Voyage for Alaskan 8' NCO

Just 6 days of cleaning & maintenance, now the Alaskan is on its first trip. First stop is the Little Salmon River for some very Late April (29th) steelhead fishing.




Truth is this is the first Steelhead landed this season.

Spent the night at Shorts Bar on the main Salmon out of Riggins, Idaho.






A little breakfast and then head to Hells Canyon for 3 days of Bass fishing with some fellow wildland fire retirees.





Many bass were caught and salmon are starting to run into Idaho rivers! A great first trip for the Alaskan

Nice! I've always enjoyed Riggins but more from a whitewater perspective than fishing.

Thanks fellas. The Salmon River will be flowing with Chinook salmon any day now so trip #2 is coming due. The ole Powerstroke got 20mpg on the 240 mi. Hells Canyon trip, driving along at 55.
