Just got some new camper jacks and mounting brackets and was wondering if anyone has any advise on installation? It's always a bit nerve racking putting holes into the cherished unit.

The brackets are the Atwood ones with 13x3.75inch and 13x2.75inch.

The camper is 1993 FWC Grandby.

ouch !

They sound pretty big.

The height should not be a problem, but the width might be.

I don't think it will matter if the brackets are a little taller, or a little shorter.

But with the bigger brackets, the pre drilled holes in the atwood jack brackets might not line up with the framing on your FWC ?

I know the brackets we use on the Six-Pac cabover campers are too wide to fit on the Four Wheel Campers.

Attached are some sample pictures of the FWC bracket sizing.

When we are installing the jack brackets we are trying to bolt in to the frist 1" inch or so of the camper framing.

The older campers might only have a 1" thick aluminum frame in the campers (more or less), so if the brackets bolts are too far off, you might not be able to screw the brackets into the aluminum frame ?

Please call Terry or Chicali in our service dept. if you need more help.

They might be able to give you some better tips & tricks.

I'm good with the photo gallery stuff to help you here on the front lines.

Terry and Chicali are better with the precise details of the manufacturing.

Hope this helps.

Happy Camping !

:)

Attached are some sample frame pictures.

This might give you a better idea on what is happening behind the scenes.

The older campers had a little less aluminum in them, compared to the newer models.

The camper frames are always being improved and beefed up each year.
