So I'm gathering materials and info on the new cab over project this spring. One of the issues is..the height of the cab to the camper..built for 1970's trucks....

Before I embark on establishing the platform height and use of the space....Is there anyone out there with a 2000+ Ford and a cab-over....looking for a height to clear the cab....and right now I'm looking at 3+ inches just to get a mere 3/4" clearance....When two adults get into the cab over....I'm thinking trouble

are the newer Alaskans built for the clearance or with platforms?

This one gets a drawer platform and a drawer to the side, much like the NCO currently in use.

I know Wes has one very close....

Rusty, I was just at Alaskan a couple of days ago. I believe Bryan said that he was using 4x6s for new Fords, depending on how the floor was built (for interior height).

bringing it back from Washington I used 4x4's...but I'm going to frame it with aluminum channel and create a drawer for more "stuff".

If Brian used 4x6's...I better call...5 1/2" is a bit too much....I'd end up with more storage over the bed rails..more work

is the new factory taking up the rear building or the front one as well?
