This is my version of the lifter Les of lqhikers made back in August of 07. His post is roof lifting device for my eagle. You can search it it was posted on 17 August 07@ 11:18a.Since I have no welding equipment I made mine out of wood, oak to be exact.Mine is a little longer than the one Les made I felt that it gives me extra leverage .I attach mine by means of a door hinge one half mounted to the top of the door frame and the other on the lever itself. You will need a pair of hinges but only 1 1/2 of the set.The front end is mounted to the bed slide.Since the bed bottom will slide I made stops for each side of the bed ,sorry the picture is blurry,of how the stop mounts. It just sits on the slid rail and has a small stop mounted along the side of the rail. This keeps the bed from sliding out when you lift the front. The attachment spots in the roof are just a pice of wood with a hole to match the lifters end and bolted on to hold in place,at the lift bar points
I use this only as a back up to the roof lifter thingies, when the canoe is on top and I'am tired, but almost all the time the roof goes up with no effort.
I hope this makes sense and is of help
