Rotopax Question

With our new Bobcat , I had it configured with two Rotopax gas containers. The camper is going to pretty much live on the truck, but I won't use the gas cans until I am on a trip. Rather than leave them in the sun, I want to remove them so they're not soaking up UV all the time. Basically, it's just removing the cans and locking mechanisms and storing them, leaving to mounts on the camper.

Can anyone think of a downside or possible damage to the mounts? Maybe I just need something to obsess about .

I've done that from time to time and haven't seen any damage. If you want you could spray some 303 on them occasionally if you want to 'tend' them.

Our mount is just fine with off and on use for 3 years. The truck and camper does live here in the garage between trips. I wouldn't obsess about it unless you really want to.

Charlie, Mr. 3Pin: Thanks! Every once in a while my OCD just has to escape. I will just take them off when not in use.
