Hello,
So to shim my 8' NCO to fix the spread at the bottom door I read a bunch of the postings here and I got the door square and closed. But I am not sure if I did it correctly.
I put 5/8" plywood down on the bed of the truck and the camper on that. Then I attached a 6" by 8' x 5/8 plywood board on each bed rail to make up the differences for the side of the camper.
Still the door was not quite square and so I added 3 pieces of 6" x18" x 1/8" aluminum between the plywood on the bed and the camper and I located those pieces lengthwise below the door hinge.
Does this make sense? was there a better way to do this?
By the way this camper is serial number 475 made back in 1958. Still in pretty good condition and mostly original.
