I had two of these fans put on my hawk at the time of order back in '07. The rear unit began to balk when raising it's dome. Sometimes it would work and sometimes you would hear a click and it would quit without doing anything.

i sent an email explaining my problem to shurflo and within a day Mr. Mel Arabmula shipped me a replacement dome motor.

no fuss, no muss

the automatic dome has turned out to be very nice for two reasons:
1. the units have a rain sensor and automatically close the domes - this has paid off numerous times while we have been out on walks.
2. the units can be operated in a thermostat controlled mode....so if i leave a window slightly open on the truck and leave the camper pass-thru window open the fan will help keep the camper and the truck cool on the very hot sacramento valley days.

i am glad to have the problem resolved.

good support from shurflo

Thanks for the tip. I didn't know about the Shurflo vents until reading your post. I now plan to purchase one for my FWC. The rain sensor that automatically closes the vent is the selling point for me.

I accidentally left a vent open one day, and spent the next day at a laundromat feeding quarters into the dryers for several hours. Down sleeping bags and wool blankets take a long time to dry.

AC units are not practical for the FWC campers, but a good ceiling fan and vent combo is certainly better than nothing.

"...The Comfort Air Platinum circulation fan features full remote operation that allows you to control comfort levels from your fingertips. Included is a handy wall mounting bracket that gives you the option of leaving your controls on the wall, or taking it with you to the bed or living area. Equipped with Bi-directional operation, thermostat setting, and a rain sensor, this all-in-one fan is ideal for circulating air throughout your whole coach. High ceilings are no longer a concern with this remote version, because there are no wires to run through the walls and installation is a breeze."
